Did I Really Just Say That?

One of my favorite gifts from my baby shower was a little scrap book that contained words of wisdom from my friends and co-workers who were in the trenches of mommyhood. More than one person said . . . expect the unexpected . . . perfect advice for all mommies because I truly never expected that I would ever say anything like . . . .

"Eliza, if you want some water Mommy will get you some, but you can't drink out of Bob's (the dog) water bowl."

"I know you love your crocks but we do not wear our shoes to bed."

"If you put little Addi (her doll) in the fridge she will get too cold"

"Dora and Diego are sleeping, so we can't watch them on T. V. right now."

"Do you really need to wear your sunglasses in the bath tub?"

"Eliza please don't lick the shower floor."

  1. Eliza's picture is perfect for this post! Those are awesome mommy-daughter moments. I can't decide which one is my favorite. You're definitely right that Eliza shouldn't lick the shower floor.

  2. One of my all time favorites that I have said to Spencer is, "honey, if you don't like how it feels then don't put yogurt in your eyes".

  3. I love this. Today I told Norah, 'pumpkin, it's no big deal. Everyone's butt stinks sometimes.' Ha.
