Project Life: Week 6

Project Life: Week 6
February 5 - 11, 2011

February 5, 2011: Eliza attended a birthday party for her friend Cameron. She had a great time at the party but the pony ride was a different story.

February 6, 2011: We spent the majority of the day in our jammies. It was way past noon when we finally decided to get dressed.

February 7, 2011: Eliza has really been into her books lately especially the comic books her Dad buys for her. I am so glad that she already has a love of books.

February 8, 2011: Please don't call CPS! I promise she is not being punished! She thinks it is funny to get in Bob's "House".

February 9, 2011: Tonight Eliza decided that she needed to look the part. She read her princess book while wearing her tiara.

February 10, 2011: Unfortunately there is no picture for this day. I had planned to get my picture of the day when I took Eliza to her dance class but we never made it to dance class because she was running a fever of 101 and taking care of a sick baby took precedence over taking pictures.

February 11, 2011: After a visit to our pediatrician, we learned that Eliza tested positive for flu! We were lucky to catch it in the first 24 hours, but she was not a fan of the medication she had to take.

Yee Haw Cowboy

Eliza's friend Cameron decided we all needed to "Cowboy Up" for his 3rd birthday party. All of the kids were given hats and bandannas so they would look like real cow folk for their pony rides.

Eliza and her friends loved the potato sack races. The sacks were a bit big for them but they loved jumping around while everyone cheered for for them.

Although Eliza loved wearing all of the cowboy gear, she was not too keen
on actually riding the pony. She had a death grip on that saddle and my arm for her entire ride.

Once every one had been given the opportunity to ride the pony, they allowed they kids to have a second ride. There was no way that Eliza was going to ride again but she did walk next to the pony as her friends rode again.

Overall it was a great party and Eliza was plum tuckered out . . . . she fell asleep on the way home. (FYI - This picture was taken after we pulled into the driveway. . . . I wan't driving and picture taking!)

Project Life: Week 5

January 29 - February 4, 2011

January 29, 2011: When I went to El Paso to help my grandfather move to Austin, I had the opportunity to spend my Saturday night with these three adorable monkeys - my nieces Nicole and Natalie and my nephew Joey. Don't you love Joey's "cheese" face?

January 30, 2011: A.J. is explaining the details of our encounter with Officer Crazy to my mom and Dick.

January 31, 2011: After we got home from school. Eliza decided she wanted to spend some time in her playroom.

On a side note: You may notice that there are several Project Life pictures of Eliza wearing this purple dress. This is her absolute favorite dress and she would wear it everyday if I let her.

February 1, 2011: I took this picture first thing in the morning before I woke Eliza up in order to commemorate the fact that she had actually slept through the night for the first time in over a week. I was beginning to feel as though I had a new born again.

February 2, 2011: I was trying to take a picture of Eliza while we were playing dress up, but she only wanted me to take a picture of her feet. She was very proud of her "magic slippers".

February 3, 2011: When Eliza and I got home at 4:00 p.m. this was the outside temperature. We were preparing for the snow that had been forecasted.

February 4, 2011: We did not get any snow but there was enough ice on the roads for school to be cancelled. The three of us stayed in our jammies all day and enjoyed our unexpected day off.

Girl's Night Out

It is no secret that I love me some Chick-Fil-A. We eat there on average at least once a week. Every Tuesday night is Family Night and a few weeks ago ScoobyDoo showed up for Family Night. Steve was working late, so Eliza and I had girl's night out.

As soon as she saw Scooby, she went running to him and gave him a very big hug. She didn't seem all that impressed with Daphne and Velma.

As much as Eliza loved seeing Scooby, she was equally excited to see the cow. She hugged him, gave him high five's and repeatedly told him to "Eat More Chicken!". This cow love is new for us, as she used to be terrified of the cow. If he was to even walk by her, she pretty much fell apart. As we were leaving, I told her how proud I was of her that she hugged the cow. When I asked her if she remembered when she used to be afraid of the cow, she replied "Do you remember I was afraid of the cow and so I bite mommy?" Yes I remember.

Project Life: Week 4
January 22 - 28, 2011

January 22, 2011: On Friday Eliza came home with a note from school telling us that one of her class mates had LICE!! Yikes! Since I spent my entire Saturday washing everything we own that could possibly contain lice, I thought it was only fitting that my washing machine be the picture of the day.

January 23, 2011: We went out to lunch with our sweet friends, Pam and Diedre. Pam has worked with Steve for many years but she recently took a job in Colorado, so we wanted to take them out for a good bye lunch.

January 24, 2011: This picture is just for Aunt Mare and Uncle John. I wanted to show them that it is not just all about UT in our house; Eliza is being taught about Tech traditions too.

January 25, 2011: We had a rough start to our morning. This is partly because Eliza is NOT a morning person and partly because she refused to go to sleep the night before. Everytime I tried to get her up and moving, she would just lay back down and pull the covers over her head. I think she thought that if I couldn't see her then she didn't have to get up.

January 26, 2011: This is my "Just Keeping it Real" photo. We had an even rougher start to our morning and even less sleep than the night before.

January 27, 2011: The difference a good night sleep makes!

January 28, 2011: In order to celebrate their letter of the week "P", Eliza's school hosted a pajama day for the kids. She got to wear her pajama's and slippers to school. She was so excited about wearing her jammies to school that she could hardly contain herself. I think the world might be a happier place if we were all allowed to wear our pajamas and slippers to work!
