A New Love/Obsession

A few weeks ago Eliza had a bad case of croup and missed a whole week of school. She spent the majority of that week resting and because she was feeling so yucky, I let her watch more TV than normal. This is now a decision that I am somewhat regretting.

She had never seen an episode of Dora the Explorer and I remembered how much my niece, Nicole liked Dora so I put it on for her. To say that she liked it is a HUGE understatement. She is in LOVE with Dora. If I let her, she would watch it nonstop all day.

Today Eliza went to Target to buy her some new sandals. I had intended on purchasing little white sandals perhaps with sweet little flowers on them but that is not what we got . . . . we are now the proud owner of Dora sandals . . . they are cute but not really what I wanted her to have. As soon as I saw Dora's picture on the box, I was praying that she wouldn't notice . . . no such luck. We are also the proud owners of a Dora swimsuit and Dora sippy cups.

  2. Poor baby. Yikes on the croup. Glad she's on the mend. I have heard from lots of people that Dora obsession is what happens after Elmo obsession.

  3. Spencer had croup in January. We went to the pediatrician and they gave him a shot. He was over it and completely healthy within 24 hours. You should ask about the shot if it ever happens again.

Spencer would spend more than 24 hours a day watching Barney if we let him. He would try to rip apart the time continuum if he could to fit in every last Barney second. I have Barney songs stuck in my head every minute of every day. Right now it's Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me......

  4. I've never seen Dora in action. I hope she's not too annoying since she'll be a part of your daily life for awhile.
